All finished food products have to be preserved to provide a reliable shelf-life. Limas has several options for product treatment both before and after packaging.


Washing & Preserving

Effective washing of peeled potatoes before packing lengthens the shelf-life, reduces the preservative requirement and ensures a consistent quality end product. The Limas Combi-wash is the only method that provides this.

Blanching & Cooling

The potatoes are part cooked in water and/or steam and then cooled in either water or air prior to packing.

Cooking & Cooling in Pack

Cooking and cooling the potatoes after sealing in a vacuum pack provides a near-pasteurised product with a very long shelf life compared to fresh packing.
